  • L'Image Retrouvée opens in Paris

    L'Image Retrouvée opens in Paris

L’Immagine Ritrovata opens its new film restoration laboratory, L’Image Retrouvée, in Paris. This new laboratory will bring to France – the country where cinema was born – L'Immagine Ritrovata’s highly specialised film restoration capabilities and its long-standing love of film, while at the same time looking towards the future, represented by the digital frontier and the use of 4K technology, the unsurpassed apex in film restoration quality.

An important step, the natural continuation of the bond that for some time has united the Cineteca di Bologna and L’Immagine Ritrovata to France through the restoration of films from the Lumière brothers and the origins of cinema to more recent productions already in need of restoration, presented every year at prestigious festivals such as Cannes, Lyon (Festival Lumière), Paris (Toute la mémoire du monde).

Following the opening of L’immagine Ritrovata Asia in Hong Kong in 2015, L’Immagine Ritrovata is continuing its field deployment of a team located halfway between traditional craftsmanship and industrial process, between film and digital, and always at the service of cinematographic works and their authors.
