    L'Immagine Ritrovata Asia official opening

L’Immagine Ritrovata – Film Restoration & Preservation is happy to announce that on June 12th it has opened its first overseas laboratory in Hong Kong, called L’Immagine Ritrovata Asia.

Founded in 1992 in Bologna, L'Immagine Ritrovata is a laboratory exclusively specialized in film restoration and based in Bologna (Italy). Today, thanks to its innovative methodologies, consistent research, and the variety and complexity of its restoration projects around the world, L'Immagine Ritrovata is a leading laboratory in the field.

The active presence of L'Immagine Ritrovata in Asia for the past several years prompted the laboratory to start an operation in Hong Kong, using the city as the base to extend its film restoration service to a growing Asian demand on film restoration and conservation.

The new branch enables the laboratory to serve Hong Kong and Asian archives and film libraries more effectively, without long distance logistics and significant time difference in communication. Archives from Hong Kong and Asia will save on the shipping costs while easily monitoring the progress of the work.

    L'Immagine Ritrovata Asia Opening Soon

A state-of-the-art film restoration laboratory in terms of quality, technology and business, L’Immagine Ritrovata is launching a new challenge to the Asian markets: with well-established relationships with the Asian film market, the time has come to open a new company, L’Immagine Ritrovata Asia, in Hong Kong. A branch in Asia and focused on image and sound digitization, the new laboratory represents a new gate towards the East to settle in Asia, cradle of cinema, where masters like Wong Kar-wai and John Woo  are working, and legends like Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan have burst out.
This is a crucial achievement for the company that is in a growing phase and that in the last ten years has considerably increased its turnover.
Local highly specialized operators who were trained during film restoration schools organized by L’Immagine Ritrovata and Cineteca di Bologna since 2007 will be the outpost for film restoration in the Southern-eastern region.
